How do we foster healthy relationships and true partnerships with the youth we serve without engaging in adultism, reinforcing biases, or creating chaos? This workshop will explore the benefits of youth engagement while uncovering key elements and best-practices for creating authentic and powerful bonds through youth-adult partnerships.

When it comes to youth, one size fits all approaches are rarely effective or helpful. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to several key factors for developmentally and culturally responsive practices. Participants will be given the opportunity to create a deeper understanding of how our own journeys impact our work with youth. We will also explore how to chart a roadmap to more effective practices that better serve all youth. (Note: this is a combined and abridged overview of the topics explored more in depth in Cultural Humility & Responsiveness and Powerful Bonds: Creating and Sustaining Authentic Youth-Adult Partnerships). This is a two-hour minimum workshop.
